Bu bi\u00e7imdeki dizili\u015fte, biri \u00f6tekinin g\u00fcne\u015f \u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131 almas\u0131na en az engel olur. Bu olgu, bitkinin sa\u011fl\u0131kl\u0131 b\u00fcy\u00fcmesi i\u00e7in gereklidir. Botanik\u00e7iler, bitkilerdeki bu dallanma olgusuna \u201cphyllotaxis\u201d ve Y\/P = (dallanma periyodu \/yaprak say\u0131s\u0131)\u00a0\u00a0oran\u0131na yaprak \u0131raksamas\u0131 derler. Yapraklar\u0131n birbirlerini g\u00f6lgelemeyecek bi\u00e7imde s\u0131ralanm\u0131\u015f olduklar\u0131na dikkat ediniz. \u00c7evremizde g\u00f6rd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcm\u00fcz a\u011fa\u00e7 ve \u00e7i\u00e7eklerin yapraklar\u0131 bize ilk bak\u0131\u015fta rastgele dizilmi\u015f gibi g\u00f6r\u00fcnebilirler, ama onlar\u0131 biraz ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 inceledi\u011fimizde \u015fa\u015f\u0131rt\u0131c\u0131 birer geometrik yap\u0131ya sahip olduklar\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6rebiliriz.
